My Top 6 Christmas Films

My Top 5 Christmas Films
Christmas is so close to us now, which means I am able to listen to festive music and have cosy nights in watching Christmassy films with hot chocolates, to get in the festivity mood - which let's face it I am quite clearly already in. For today's post, I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite Christmas films that I love to watch throughout December.

P'S a lot of Disney films to be expected!

1. Disney's A Christmas Carol | This is an animated retelling of the Charles Dickens' classic novel about a Victorian-era miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions. I really like this film it is a lot different from most Christmas films I have in my favourites, but it does have a sense of adventure to it. It's a little bit like The Grinch, this grumpy old man ends up falling in love with Christmas. Just writing about it makes me want to watch it!

2. Edward Scissorhands | This was in my Halloween Favourite Films therefore that speaks for itself. This is about a young, quirky man who has scissors as hands and a freakish appearance. A saleswoman discovers Edward and takes him home, where he falls for Peg's daughter. The music and the elements of snow really makes this film feel Christmas-y and get you really excited. The TV always has this on around Christmas!

3. Disney's Frozen | When the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister Anna teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer and a snowman to change the weather condition and help save Elsa. You probably all know what Frozen is about as it seems as though everybody has saw this film! I love this film over the Christmas and to me it is a festive film. The soundtrack is so entertaining and the storyline has a great little twist to it.

4. The Holiday | Two women troubled with guy problems swap homes in each other's countries, where they meet a local guy and fall in love. If you like Love Actually you will probably like this film too. Even though it is on for over 2 hours, which seems extensive for a romantic film, it is a lovely film to watch over Christmas. I love Jude Law for starters, but there is a lot of wintry, Christmas vibes to this film which makes it perfect to snuggle on the sofa to watch.

5. Disney's Beauty and the Beast | When Belles father gets imprisoned by the Beast, she offers herself in exchange of his freedom. Unaware that her captor is in fact an enchanted prince, Belle and the Beast discover love for one another. I love this film! It is in fact my all time favourite Disney film, which is probably why I included it in this post. It has a lot of Christmas, cosy elements to it and the soundtrack is so much fun to sing along to.

6. The Nightmare Before Christmas | Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town discovers Christmas Town, but doesn't quite understand the concept behind it. If you enjoy those gothic, quirky, animated movies you will really enjoy this film. This film is a traditional film you have to watch over the Christmas! I didn't think I'd enjoy this film, given it looks a lot like a Halloween film, but I actually really enjoyed it.

These are my Top 6 Favourite Christmas Films that I watch every single year and can never get bored of. I do have other favourites that I would also recommend such as Elf, Home Alone, Jingle all the Way and The Polar Express. These are all typical Christmas-y films that get you in the festive mood!

Festive Reds

Festive Reds
Apart from the cosy knitted socks, oversized jumpers and lots of LUSH baths, another reason why I love the festive season is I am able to pick and choose between my dark lipsticks. Red is such a classic Christmassy colour to wear, I usually sway more towards purple lips in winter, but this year I have decided to rock the red more. Today I am sharing with you my top 5 festive red lipsticks!

Chanel 'Arthur' Hydrating Lipstick* - This is such a classic shade of red that is perfect for both day and night wear. What I love about this lipstick is how hydrating it feels sometimes, it can be a bit of a chore finding a lipstick that hydrates really well. The colour is so pigmented and long-lasting, which is perfect because topping up red lipstick can take a while!

Nars Lip Pencils 'Cruella' & 'Iberico' - I never really understood the concept of lip pencils, these to me seem a bit more like a thin version of a chubby stick. I feel as though I have more control using these lip pencils than I do with lipstick, they are incredibly easy and quick to apply. I find these so long lasting and the pigmentation is stunning - a little goes a long way. Cruella is definitely a more of a deep red, perfect for festive occasions whereas Iberico is a little bit more perfect for daytime wear.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks '12' & '01' - I've always been a huge fan of Kate Moss lipsticks as they last such a long time! Number 12 is a cheaper alternative to the Nars 'Iberico' shade and 01 is definitely your classic, deep red wine shade, perfect on Christmas Day. These are inexpensive and easier to pick up compared to Nars and Chanel and I find they moisturize your lips a little bit more.

My Festive Makeup Essentials

My Festive Makeup Essentials
Ahh, the festive season is finally here! I love winter, it is all about the sparkle and shimmer for me so, what better way then to update my makeup routine!? Today I am going to share with you all My Festive Makeup Essentials that'll really get you looking like a Christmas snowflake or angel!

Chanel Les Ombre Eyeshadow Quad 'Tisse Camelia'* | Chanel is a very special brand therefore what better time to wear it than the festive season. These ombre quads include 4 vibrant, pigment-rich eyeshadows that are so long-lasting and powerful on the lids. Including a highlight, two medium tones and a deep shadow to intensify the eyes. This palette is amazing for winter as you can create so many festive, shimmery, bold looks for both day and night. I love the packaging that it comes in, very sophisticated and classy.

No.7 Highlighting Stick | I highlight my face all year round but when it gets to Winter I swap my powdery highlights for a more thick, creamy one. The no.7s highlighting stick is such a creamy, easy to apply stick that gives you amazingly strong highlight that pops up in photos lovely. This always leaves my makeup looking incredibly healthy and in some ways more expensive too. Highlights are perfect for creating that Festive Makeup look as you will have such a healthy glow that sometimes winter can disguise away.

Clinique Chubby  Stick 'Curviest Caramel'* | Chubby sticks are my all time favourite sort of lip products. They glide on my lips so easy and always last such a long time without topping up or smudges. On those days I don't feel daring enough for dark lips, I like to wear this lip product from Clinique. This adds a pop of pink to my lips that lets them stand out, but not as bold and vibrant as my red. I love these and I definitely recommend them if you don't always like spending a great deal of time on your lips but want the flattering bold look.

Chanel 'Arthur' Lipstick* | A classic red is a must for the festive season or a nice purple. The shade of this lipstick is such a staple to wear for all seasons, but the fact it's a high-end brand makes it a lot more special. Again I only wear this lipstick on special occasions because of its expense, but the consistency is incredibly long lasting and bold. I love everything about this lipstick. This sort of red can be dressed up or down also, but I personally love to style this with a black turtle neck dress.

NARS Dual-Intensity Blush | I am a lot bolder with my makeup in Winter so I like to use darker blushers rather than pastel shades. This is one of my favourites because not only does it include 2 beautiful paired shades, it also adds an amazing shimmery glow to your cheeks. A little goes a long way with this blusher, you do not need a lot of it because both shades combined together add such a vibrant look. This again shows up amazingly in photos!

Freedom Pro Priming Water* | To set my festive makeup off I like to spritz this priming water on top of my makeup. This can be used as a lightweight primer or as a top extra highlight. It hydrates your skin as well as gives you a boost of radiance, which is the look I like to go for in Winter. I use this as an extra highlight and I must admit it really does add radiance to my makeup and sets it off nicely ready for a party!

What I Love About Christmas

What I Love About Christmas
Apart from the expensive, mad-rush in town and the one Brussels sprout I dedicate myself to eat on my Christmas dinner, there are very few things I dislike about Christmas. This means there's a significant amount of things I do love about it but, I have managed to narrow it down to the biggest reasons why.

If you're not feeling festive yet then hopefully this will help!

1. The Atmosphere - I love the atmosphere both in my house and outside of it too. Whenever I am in town all the Christmas lights are lit, music's playing and everyone is in a merry mood to buy their gifts. Which just makes you feel excited about buying other people's presents! I also love the feel of Christmas in my house - lots of twinkling lights, Christmassy films, hot chocolates in Santa mugs and let's not forget delicious tins of chocolate. Preferably Quality Streets!

2. The Weather - I hesitated to put this one in but, since we had a glimmer of some lovely snow over the weekend there is still hope for a white Christmas. I love the weather leading up to and after Christmas, being able to snuggle in thick coats, socks, scarves etc is such a warm, comforting feel! Plus we have more excuse to have a nice, long hot bath.

3. The No-Guilt - Being able to eat and drink as much as you want without feeling guilty because most people are doing it too. I love the excuse of being able to have a piece of chocolate every day from my advent calendar, being able to have so much food stuffed on my Christmas dinner and bake sweet mince pies or Christmas cookies!

4. The Music/Films - I started creating my Christmas playlist in November I was that keen to listen to them. I love being able to listen to some classic Christmas songs and films in the comfort of my own home. Personal favourites of mine are Greg Lake, Wham and Shakin Stephens for music and Disney's Christmas Carol, The Polar Express and Edwards Scissorhands for films. What are yours?

5. Presents - Everyone loves giving and receiving presents on Christmas, don't they? It's a lovely feeling knowing the people you buy for love the gifts and vice versa. I also love being able to write lists on what to buy people for Christmas and let's not forget about wrapping them too! I always dedicate a day to wrapping presents whilst watching Christmas films.

6. The Dinner - I could not leave this and not mention the Christmas dinner, I mean this just needs a blog post for itself. I always love the smell of my house on Christmas Day, the smell of the turkey roasting, vegetable brewing and bacon off the pigs in a blanket. I always make sure I eat one Brussels sprout on Christmas and lots of stuffing. My favourite is definitely the pigs in blankets or homemade Yorkshire puddings! What is your favourite part of the dinner?

My apologies if any of you are left feeling hungry, it made me hungry just by typing.

Gift Guide: £10 And Under

Gift Guide On A Budget
Isn't it an amazing feeling being able to discover some lovely Christmas gifts that don't cost you an arm and a leg? I am always on the hunt to find some AMAZING deals on Christmas presents that have a good thought behind it. Today I wanted to share with you all a variety of gifts that are within budget and are perfect for even the fussy ones we know.

I love when brands launch sample, travel sized products around Christmas time, they are perfect for trialling before you splurge on the full size. Dove sets are perfect for this and one in particular which would be perfect for an overnight stay is the Dove Cherish Mini Set. With a deodorant, body wash and butter you are prepared for a weekend away. I like using Dove as part of my pamper routine, therefore if you know someone who enjoys pampering themselves, the Dove Real Women Washbag Gift Set is for them. With full sized products and the perfect makeup bag, this is a bargain!

I don't know a single female who doesn't want or already own a Tangle Teezer, therefore when I see them on offer and come in the cutest Christmas-cracker style packaging, how can I refuse? The miniature sized TT is perfect for popping in your handbag for on the go. If you know someone who has a love for makeup and experimenting with different looks then the Freedom House of Glamdolls Palette* is perfect. This palette covers most makeup areas: eyeshadow, brows, highlight, blush and lipgloss - therefore this could also be a good gift for girls who are starting to get into makeup. The quality of this palette is pretty good too!

Christmas candles are a must for feeling festive and winding down with a good film. Kiss Air Candles* do some incredible Christmassy scents this year that give off an amazing smell. They have a scent in Chocolate Orange which is incredible as it smells just like a Terry's Chocolate Orange! These are great value for money and last a great deal of time. If you know someone who loves jewellery and accessorizing with dainty bits, then these cute Christmas Rings* would make the perfect little stocking filler! LVNDR do some amazing accessories at a really good price and they send the gifts wrapped in tissue paper and come in cute little tote bags!

This one isn't £10 or less, but I am mentioning it anyway because it is a fun, little idea that any chocoholic would love. Thorntons have created a Christmas Gift Finder* which is basically a little game that asks you questions in relation to Christmas and at the end, your questions decide what gift hamper you deserve or someone else! The game is very festive and reminds me a lot of something from Willy Wonka.

5 Things To Do On A Sunday

Ugh Sunday, the end of the weekend and the last day before we start from the beginning again. I personally hate Sundays, they are the slowest, unproductive, boring days of the week and I always cannot wait for it to be over. Recently I have been doing things on Sunday to make the day bearable and a lot more enjoyable. So I decided to share with you some ways to spend your Sunday that are fun!

1. Catch Up - I've been taking a couple of hours of my Sunday to catch up on Youtube, TV and blog posts I have missed during the week.

2. Family Time - I sometimes like to spend my day away from the keyboard and with some family. Recently I've been trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle with my mam, which is actually impossible. At the age of 21, I can say I have been enjoying this.

3. Pamper Day - Sunday seems like the only real free day I get to relax and do whatever I please. So I've recently been taking the evening out to pamper myself with a face mask, hair mask and sometimes paint my nails.

4. Cleaning Day - This one bores me a little bit, if I play some Christmas music or stick a Disney film on as I work, it does make the day go a lot quicker. I like to take Sunday out to clean up and sometimes change things around to keep things looking fresh.

5. Go To A Market - Where I live there is a lot of weekend markets on in different areas close by. I sometimes like to walk to the Quayside to go to the market in the mornings with my boyfriend or a friend to kill some time. I always end up coming home with some lovely trinkets and brownies of course.

What do you do to make Sunday's a fun day??

A Festive Candle Haul

A Festive Candle Haul
One thing I love about the frosty wintry weather is it's now acceptable to stay in the house more. Whether it's snuggled up on the sofa watching Netflix with a good cup of tea, having a bubble bath full of LUSH products or being able to light some festive candles and completely wash away your troubles. I am always about comfort in winter, whether that's bath products, blankets, thick socks or candles. I always like to feel properly comfortable and snug. Today I have a little post on some Festive Candles by a brand called Kiss-Air and oh my they smell delicious!

Christmas Tree | This smells amazing, it has such a strong and real scent to it where you could close your eyes and totally imagine you had a real Christmas tree! Such an authentic aroma of pine trees with a hint of sweet mountain air. This is definitely a one to burn in your living room, it is very fresh and really puts you in the Christmas spirit.

Chocolate Orange | I was most excited by this flavour candle as who wouldn't want a candle that smells of Terry's Chocolate Orange? I can't guarantee this won't stop me from buying the chocolate though, as it smells so real! Such a delicious fragrance combined with milk chocolate and sweet orange notes, resting on a delicate vanilla base. I cannot get over how much this smells like an actual Terry's Chocolate Orange, I bet it'll be great for a chocolate diet!

Mulberry Spice | One scent I love in winter is cinnamon, it has such a Christmas feel to it that really excites you. This scented candle has refreshing top notes of zesty bitter orange peel and lemon, middle notes of warm wild mulberries, with base notes of freshly ground cinnamon bark and nutmeg. This is the definition of Christmas in a candle and I think this is a one I will be burning dot on Christmas day! I absolutely love the scent it really excites me for Christmas, as well as making me want a Chai Latte.

I can't wait to burn these candles throughout December and really get in the festive spirit. What I love most about these candles is how spot on they smell and I think that is down to the soy wax. These are supposed to burn up to 25-30 hours and release delicious, authentic fragrances all around the room.
*PR Sample/gift.
