Pre-Workout Snacks

Pre Workout Snacks
Whether you exercise at home or at the gym everyone wants to get the most out of workouts, why? To run faster, pull heavier and squat harder. I love snacking, I find it enjoyable and really satisfying, but did you know if you snack the right foods before a workout you can maximize your efforts in the gym? If your pre-workout snacks are perfectly well balanced they can fuel your body, quench your hunger, fight tiredness and aid recovery.

Today I wanted to share with you all some of my current pre-workout snacks that I think have really made a difference to my body as well as my motivation at the gym.

Chocolate Whey Protein | If I have the time I like to try and include whey protein in my diet before I workout. This chocolate flavour is from the company Zipvit and it tastes just like a normal chocolate milkshake, you can't taste the protein whatsoever. I prefer flavour protein shakes as it makes it a lot easier to drink and tastes yummy. This always makes me feel more prepared for my workout and by the next day my muscles don't ache as bad.

Nothing But Dried Fruit & Veg | I always like to intake as much fruit and veg as possible, in any sort of shape or form. Dried fruit are a quick and easy pre-workout snack that is a good source of carbohydrates that easily digest. I like to have a pack of these when I'm feeling peckish but not too peckish. These ones I have been recently eating are from Nothing But, they taste so fruity and chewy which leaves a lovely taste in my mouth. They usually fill me up until after my workout.

9BARS | These bars are amazing to eat if you are looking for a natural source of good energy packed with nutritious seeds. 9BARS are a great healthy snack for a bit of a energy boost to kick-start your workout. I like to have one of these bars if I am feeling hungry but in need of some energy to get me prepared for my workout. I always carry one of these in my handbag too, as they always come in handy on the go.

Zipvit Protein Bars | Chocolate orange or caramel flavour these protein bars are formulated using high quality whey and milk proteins. These are ideal to have after a workout that will help with recovery. I always find it very hard to consume protein unless it has a nice flavour like these. Even though they are ideal to have after a workout I like to have one of these bars before a workout if I know I won't be eating anything for awhile. These are so so filling and are one of the nicest protein bars I have had where I am unable to taste anything other than chocolate.
